Heartbreaker Productions present an adapted version of Susan’s Glaspell’s one act play 'Trifles', a dark comedy set in Kaitangata putting women at the centre of the true crime genre.

A violent crime has occurred in the house of John and Sharon Wright, and Sharon is the main suspect.

"You girlies are always worried about little trifles eh?"
Alia Marshall

While Kaitangata locals Samantha and Angela gather Sharon's things, they accidentally discover the truth about what really happened, and perhaps a few truths about themselves along the way.

Join us for a cuppa as the mystery unfolds.

After a controversial season during the 2021 Fringe Festival, feminist theatre collective Heartbreaker Productions are back to put on 'Trifles' for the Six Degrees Festival along with the help of several other fabulous creatives. The Heartbreakers place a strong emphasis on an intersectional process with a production team consisting of only feminine identifying people to tell stories for, by, and about women and queer people. Company member Alia Marshall has adapted and will be directing this play in collaboration with Jasmine Bryham as scenographer and Ottilie Bleackley as performer and dramaturg for their Master of Fine Arts 590 project. Keep an eye on the Heartbreakers social media to meet the rest of the cast and crew in 'Trifles'. Trust us, you don't want to miss it.
