BATS Theatre is at 1 Kent Terrace in central Wellington.
You’ll find us down the end of Courtenay Place, just along from the Embassy Theatre and opposite the Welsh Dragon Bar. On show nights we'll be all lit up. Keep an out for the iconic spiky BATS sign hanging above the front door.
There’s a small number of metered parks outside BATS along Kent Terrace, which are free after 6pm on weekdays and 8pm on Fridays. Pay-and-display parks are $4 an hour. On weekends, parking is free but a two hour time restriction applies. Traffic in central Wellington can be slow moving at peak times, and finding a park can take a while, so be sure to allow plenty of time if you’re driving to BATS.
Getting a bus to or from BATS? No worries, there are bus stops on Courtenay Place (stop 5000) Blair Street (stop 5516). There are also stops by Waitangi Park on Cable Street and on Oriental Parade. BATS is about a 3 minute walk from all of these bus stops.
So much food, so near
Being right in the city means we’re in foodie heaven, with many delicious eats mere moments away. There are some snacks available at the bar but if you’re after something more substantial we recommend checking out the eateries on Majoribanks Street or Courtenay Place.
As a general rule, latecomers cannot be admitted. BATS shows start on time (almost always!). We ask each of our shows if they will allow latecomers, as each show is different. Usually, having people coming in late can be awkward and disruptive.
If you miss a show because you’re running late, we’ll offer to move your tickets to another night of the same show if there’s space available. If you're late, there's always the bar on hand to drown your sorrows!
