Creative New Zealand X BATS Theatre Pacific Producer Residency
BATS Theatre are excited to welcome applications from experienced Pasifika producers to take part in a 3 month residency. This residency will take place at BATS Theatre in Wellington, & applications are open to Pacific producers across Aotearoa.
The purpose of this residency is to create an opportunity for an experienced Pasifika producer to work in Te Whanganui-a-Tara and expand their networks. The producer will become a part of the BATS whānau, working from our office in Pōneke, and will attend staff hui and morning teas with incoming artists. We welcome applications from producers who may have existing contracts for works that are being presented outside of BATS Theatre. The Pasifika producer will be encouraged to use this time to develop/take on new contracts if they have capacity, and to further build their connections in the industry. This could include travel throughout Aotearoa.
BATS Theatre will tailor our support based on what the Pasifika producer wishes to achieve by the end of the residency. The candidate will be selected in collaboration with industry leaders and Creative New Zealand, led by BATS.

Duration & Financial
Duration: 14 Weeks / 3 Months
May 8th: Candidate selected and notified
Start Date (flexible): Monday 29th May 2023
End Date (flexible): Friday 1st September 2023
Resident weekly pay before tax: $1500 before tax ($21,000)
Contribution towards accommodation (and one return domestic flight if needed) to Wellington: $4000
