Technical Manager | BATS Theatre
BATS Theatre is looking for an experienced and collaborative Technical Manager to lead our technical operations and support the delivery of our diverse programme of live performance.
We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical theatre expertise with excellent people skills. Someone who can support artists to realise their ideas, lead and develop our technical team, and ensure our venues, equipment and systems are safe, well maintained and ready for performance.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Strong experience in technical theatre or live performance
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
• Experience leading technicians, contractors or technical teams
• Strong technical, production and health and safety knowledge
• Good organisational and budget management skills
• A collaborative, solutions focused approach
• A genuine commitment to supporting artists and independent performance
This is a key role at BATS and an opportunity to help shape the next generation of our technical capability.
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: BATS Theatre, Wellington
Theatre doesn’t run 9 to 5, and neither does this role. You’ll need the flexibility to work across daytime, evening and occasional weekend hours to support our programme.
