Alanah Munn
Actor, Director, Playwright
Alanah Munn is a Pōneke-based theatre practitioner. Since moving to Pōneke from Tāmaki Makaurau in 2021, Alanah has completed a BA in Theatre and Te Reo Māori, and a MFA(Creative Practice) in Directing at Te Herenga Waka. She has worked on a variety of productions both as an actor and in various crew positions, including costume design, directing, fight choreographer/captain, lighting design, and tech operator. Her most recent projects include Subversion (Ruckus Theatre 2025), Te Aka Tawhito (Taki Rua 2024), and her first original production Verdict (Requiem Productions 2024), a participatory horror show produced for Te Herenga Waka’s Six Degrees Festival 24-25. As a theatre practitioner, Alanah is passionate about integrating Te Reo Māori and tīkanga practices into the rehearsal room, as well as bringing Māori pūrākau to the stage.
