Alayne Dick

Kia ora! My name is Alayne (she/her) and I'm a queer comedian/writer/performer. Currently I'm performing a lot on the stand-up scene - but I also love theatre and improv! I've currently been expanding into writing scripts for film and TV, and am super keen to write more for stage as well. In 2024 I was awarded a seed grant through the NZ Writers Guild, so am busy working on that new feature script. Previously I've won an SYNZ Tour Ready Award at the NZ Fringe Festival, and been nominated for Best Spoken Word at the Sydney Fringe Festival. In 2024, I featured in the Best Comedy Show (Winter Special) with the NZ. International Comedy Festival and was nominated at the Wellington Comedy Awards for Best Comedian, Breakthrough Comedian, Best Show and Best Joke. In 2025. I am currently touring my debut comedy solo Purple is the Gayest Colour to Adelaide, Melbourne and Auckland. I will also be performing at the NZ Int. Comedy Festival Gala for the first time, here in Te Whanganui-a-Tara.
