Eli Hancock

Eli Hancock (he/they) is a director and theatre-maker based in Aotearoa New Zealand. He co-founded Shakespeare’s North Productions, a company focused on making classic texts accessible, collaborative, and full of heart. Eli has directed productions of Macbeth (2023), The Winter’s Tale (2024), Julius Caesar (2024), and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2025), working with emerging artists and community spaces to bring these stories to life.
He is currently directing The Life of Henry the Fifth, showing at BATS Theatre in August 2025, continuing his interest in ensemble storytelling, language, and live performance.
