An Almighty Yes

PRESENTED BY Emma Lange + Jason Smith Co Production

An Almighty Yes is a solo comedy theatre show that draws on Emma Lange’s own account of a grubby brain tumour diagnosed in 2016 that derailed her life completely.

Emma’s incurable humour saved her and this show reflects that.

She performs a roll call of persona, each highlighting a different facet of cancer from the holy rolling pentecostal Deaconess Fanny Bribery who casts out disease riddled beelzebub in her comfy brogues, to a lycra clad dancing ham hock, her intense plastic lover named Donny and a wildly rip-roaring musical finale when all of Emma’s tiramisu dreams come true.

It is a bittersweet account of how a cancer diagnosis changed a life and demonstrates the power of our minds in creating optimism and positivity in the face of severe negativity and fierce pressure. As someone who has faced chronic illness head on, Emma knows that positive thinking is a powerful tool and comedy is a remedy for both mental and physical illness.

As a brand new work from re emerging artist Emma Lange, An Almighty Yes is inclusive and joyous, whilst not shying away from the realities of life and death.

It is a 60 minute thunderstorm of fresh air, music, comedy and enlightenment for all people dealing with challenges.

Her startling beauty is worth the ticket price alone. Come and behold.

Emma Lange is, without exception, the funniest person I have met. She breathes funny. She’s funny just in the way she blinks. We have all been waiting for this show for a long time — just for the sheer joy of spending an hour watching her breathe and blink.

We are all just choo-choo trains on the track she laid down.
