A Development Season
Devised and performed by Gabrielle Raz-Liebman (Jest Because Arts)
This is a show about watching yourself being eaten alive by a crocodile. Inspired by a true blue story.
Hero meets a hungry crocodile while minding her own business in the Kakadu National Park. Unfortunately for Hero, the crocodile is not too interested in the Very Important Ecological Research that she is conducting and decides that this human would make a very tasty meal. The only problem is, Hero gets away.
Come along on this potentially-dangerous-possibly-moving-definitely-mad romp of a solo show as physical theatre and comic artist Gabrielle Raz-Liebman attempts to unpack the limits of our humanity in the face of death (yes – it’s a big call).
Expect crocodile wrestling, dance breaks, unanswerable questions, and some tasty snacks (maybe).
This play is based on the true experience and subsequent writings by the incredible environmental philosopher and ecofeminist Val Plumwood.
