Fresh Off the Page: Golden Hour

Presented by Proudly Asian Theatre

Proudly Asian Theatre presents a live script- reading of Golden Hour written by Caryl Loria Illana.

Fresh Off the Page is in its second year in Poneke and it features contemporary Asian plays hot off the press, performed in a series of free play readings by local artists with an aim to highlight the diversity in our communities, with a focus on Asian representation in all aspects of a work.

About Golden Hour

A musical in the making, "Golden Hour" tells a story of iconic Asian women of the musical theatre canon who go to group therapy for the problems they faced- both within and in the aftermath of their stories.

About the Writer

Tagalog, Ilocano, Visayan | she/her - Caryl Loria Illana is a Filipina lesbian theatre practitioner. Her performance experience and interests lie in musical theatre, queer stories, and devising. In her writing, she explores intersections of marginalised identities. As a director, Caryl works collaboratively with marginalised writer-performers to platform and celebrate their voices and bring the best out of their stories. Caryl returns after bringing her last hot script, Soul Sister to Fresh Off the Page.
