Improv Tech Operator Training for Theatre Technicians
Hosted by the NZ Improv Trust
Get to grips with running lights and sound for improvised theatre shows!
How do you operate lights for a show when there aren't any scripted cues? How do you improvise alongside the people on stage?
This session (Tuesday 16 July) is for existing tech operators looking to up-skill in how to operate for improvised theatre, focusing on improvised tech operating.
Please Note - There is an earlier session on Tuesday 4 June for improvisors looking to gain experience as lighting and sound operators, focusing on the basics of a tech desk. Head here if this sounds more like you!
Workshops take place from 6–9pm in the Dome Theatre.
Places are free, but limited spots are available, so please book in advance.
Financial support to attend (eg. travel expenses) is available for low-income participants or those from marginalised/underrepresented backgrounds — please email [email protected] for details. These workshops were made possible by the generous support of the John Ilott Charitable Trust.
