Monkeyboard
A Bigger Fish Theatre production. Written and directed by Jamie Honey.
Grown in test tubes, raised at desktops, paid in bananas, apes and monkeys of all shapes and sizes work in a nameless building all typing away at desks for a job they cannot understand or hope to know when it’s finished. Clive, fresh from the vat, sets off to uncover the meaning behind it all. Between his dysfunctional coworkers, Neil and Bongo and his overbearing boss, Boltzmann, Clive must come to grips with his existence, or else go bananas. Monkeyboard is a commedia inspired comedy that delves into the nature of chance, the search for meaning, and the looming dangers that AI poses to the creative arts.
