Ol' Buttermilk Sky

Ol’ Buttermilk Sky’ is a contemporary dance work exploring change, overcoming temptation, what brings us together and what pulls us apart, and facing the unknown. A pair of explorers embark on a journey which challenges their relationship in unexpected ways. Along the way, the pair comes across a mysterious and curiously tender entity which influences them with unknown limitations. As relationships grow and change what is left behind? And what is yet to be revealed?
Join us as we explore this enigmatic world together. In the end, will anyone be left unchanged?
Creative Team
Tobyn Gregory Tobyn is a freelance dance artist and sound designer based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara and a 2020 graduate of the Bachelor in Performing and Screen Arts programme specialising in Contemporary Dance at Unitec Institute of Technology. They are an emerging artist whose portfolio includes the dance show 'Localtrotting' (2021) and sound design for Jawline Dance Co's 'The Monotone Era' (2021), 'Others' from 'Vivid Dreaming' (2022) as well as Solveig Co's 'Solar Drift' from 'Search Party'.
Wade Walker BerbenWade is a movement artist who is currently based in Pōneke/ Wellington. He graduated from the New Zealand School of Dance in 2021 and has been working as a freelancer since. Wade is interested in the meeting of creative expression in its many forms and the potentially unexpected outcomes.
