SONDER: Second Hand
Presented by Duct Taped On
The community centre second-hand bonanza sale is getting ready to open, and thank you so much for volunteering!
Immerse yourself in this fully interactive theatre experience and let yourself get lost in a slice of Wellington City. In this piece, you are free to explore, directed only by your own interest and what people have left to be sold. Find a beautiful dedication in a well-worn book, an important seeming box in a jacket pocket, or a mysterious USB that surely has something more than just malware on it. Listen to the volunteers debate the right price for a second-hand guitar, and maybe even weigh in on the discussion, if you’re feeling bold. Take the time to explore glimpses into the depths of lives separate from your own, and the complexities of people you have and may never meet.
Or just learn to play the recorder - the poster on the notice board promises there are cheap lessons available if you book in the next 20 minutes.
SONDER: Second Hand features tiered interaction. You can participate as much as you want and feel comfortable. This work is based on its sister show, SONDER 2022, and an art installation by the company in 2021.
