Hey, you! It’s your friendly neighbourhood Aucklander, Patrick! Listen, I want to bring a revue-style show to the festival - a work in progress, if you will - but I need a little bit of feedback on the content. I’m hosting a rehearsal with India and the band; please feel free to stop in and help us craft our ideas into something! If you’re a musical theatre nerd, come. If you’re NOT a musical theatre nerd, absolutely come.

This is NOT Musical Theatre is a comedy cabaret-style show about developing art from creative inspiration, the importance of friendship, and maybe even saving the fate of the Fringe Festival. When Patrick decides to invite an audience to come along to his and India’s rehearsal for their 2023 Fringe show, they get an unexpected call from the programme director. Suddenly finding themselves desperate to create a piece of substance or else the entirety of the Fringe Festival may cease to exist, India and Patrick (along with their trusty band) must push themselves to the creative limit to write a kick-ass cabaret.
India & Patrick Do Things Ltd. is best described as a theatrical, self-fulfilling prophecy. Co-Founders India Worsnop and Patrick Cunneen - best friends with years of performing together under their belts - began the company in mid-2020 with exactly one mission: to do things. This doing of things has already led the two to stage a self-written comedy show in both Auckland and Wellington (Fringe 2021), the latter season earning them the coveted 'Most Promising Emerging Company' award at the 2021 NZ Fringe Festival Awards.
