Tolerance
Potentially Playing Productions & Squash Co. Arts Collective
Eight of Te Whanganui-a-Tara’s most acclaimed emerging playwrights (Rachel Atlas, Rachel McLean, Campbell Wright, Zachary Klein, Viki Moananu, Amy Wright, Sophie Maree, and Matt Loveranes) tolerated one another, as they paired up to create four short plays on the theme of Tolerance. Come witness the result, an eclectic work about the ways we should (and shouldn’t) put up with those around us, as the world burns down.
“Compromise was something special; I’m genuinely grateful that I got to witness this nexus of talent. Varied and out-there, yet restrained and expertly-crafted, it had it all.”
Tolerance is the continuation of a project started last year with Compromise (Nominee, Best Organised Chaos NZ Fringe 2025) focused on bringing together playwrights to collaborate, build community amongst writers and supply a little bit of creative chaos.
It is once again directed by Lia Kelly (Most Original Production Wellington Theatre Awards, One Night Band), and features a cast of vibrant local talent.
Featuring plays about self care at the end of the world, the power games of celebrity power couples, office politics, and interventions gone awry, Tolerance is bursting at the seams with ideas, laughs, and fluids of all varieties.
Make sure to “witness this nexus of talent” (Salient), only in NZ Fringe.
