We're Weird for Other Reasons
Ace-ssential Workers and Theatre of Love
We’re Weird for Other Reasons is a world-first theatre show entirely created by members of New Zealand’s ace/aro/aspec community. This is a joyful and insightful exploration of our varied experiences of the asexual and aromantic spectrums, brought to the stage for our community, friends, the curious and kind.
After critically acclaimed and sold out shows at Auckland Pride and Wellington Pride/NZ Fringe, We're Weird for Other Reasons returns! Part documentary, part sketch show, this is a fun, theatrical, empowering and enlightening celebration of identities that are often underrepresented through performance.
Free Workshop: As part of the season we are offering a free workshop for aspec (asexual and/or aromantic) and questioning folks to discuss and explore aspec identities and experiences in an affirming and gentle space. Offered by Dr James Wenley (Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University of Wellington) and the team behind We’re Weird for Other Reasons', this workshop will involve playful prompts and exercises for us to connect and share in community.
Audio Description is available at all performances, with a touch tour offered 30 minutes before each performance. Please email [email protected] to let us know you’re attending.
