The Studio isn't your typical theatre. It's an intimate light and airy space tucked away at the top of the building. And what a cool view!

This is BATS’ classic black box theatre, so anything can happen in here. This space was completely rebuilt to be as much like the original theatre as possible.

Our swish boutique bar is here to light up your night with an excellent selection of local craft beers and some of the most affordable drinks in town.

The Pit Gallery physically exists within BATS Theatre and the Lumen Bar. It’s a space dedicated to showcasing emerging visual artists from our community.

From a gorgeous three level repurposed historic building we nurture creative talent and showcase exciting new NZ performance. BATS is more than its building - he tangata, he tangata, he tangata. We value our people and the unique cultural identity and history of Wellington and Aotearoa. We seek to decolonise spaces and remove the barriers to success through working openly together.
